Mike has been building models since he was old enough to hold a scalpel and he has the scars to prove it! Mike went on to work as a design engineer in various industries, including medical, aerospace and defence, before setting up his own design consultancy business with his wife, Lisa.

We have always been heavily involved in manufacturing and prototyping so with years of experience of building and testing and a long list of reliable suppliers for those specialist and tricky jobs The Motion Shed was born.​

Many railway visits have taken place since then, ensuring the scale accuracy of our models. With new ideas and modern technology combined with traditional methods our models look at home at the club as they do on the floor of an exhibition hall. Our aim is to produce practical scale models that bring pleasure to their owners.
